*The speed dating portion of this event is only open to alumni under 40 years of age, and the mixer is open to all sponsor schools' alumni, current, and incoming students.

*All speed dating sign ups will need to be approved first. Please note that if you are approved but do not pay before June 1, then you will not be able to participate in the speed dating. 

**Same-Sex Speed Dating

Please select your gender and sexual orientation in the signup area. If there are a sufficient number of participants, same-sex speed daters will form a separate group in the speed dating area and follow the same speed dating format detailed below.

Schedule

Arrival (6:00pm-7:00pm)

On arrival at the Four Seasons, you will be welcomed with a warm smile, name card, and drink vouchers. Speed daters will sign in with their names and affiliation.

Non-speed daters, moral supporters, and friends will not be allowed in the speed dating area, but will be free to drink, eat, and mingle in the adjoining bar area.

There will be an hour-long period to settle in, mingle, eat, and grab a drink whilst everyone arrives.

Speed Dating Rd. 1 (7:00pm-8:00pm)

The event will kick off and daters will be given a brief introduction of the evening explaining everything that daters will need to know about the evening’s format. 

Speed dating will then begin and daters will speak to each person for 3.5 minutes before the men are asked to rotate. The first round will continue until 8:00pm when we will have a 15-minute break.

Speed Dating Rd. 2 (8:15pm-9:15pm)

Speed daters will continue where they left off, and speed dating will continue until 9:15pm. 

Mingle (9:15pm-10:00pm)

All attendees are free to continue drinking, eating, and mingling until 10:00pm when the event will end. Everyone will be able to stay and enjoy the night; however, happy hour prices will end at 10:00pm.

Format & Details

Participants

Speed dating participants will be alumni from invited schools. The deadline for speed dating signup will be June 1, 2016. No deadline for non-speed daters.

The number of speed daters will be capped at 60 (30 women, 30 men). To keep these numbers balanced, once a particular gender group has reached its limit, participants will be placed on a waitlist and are invited to join the mixer in the adjoining bar area. If anyone drops out at the last minute, we will pull from the wait list. There will be no cap to the number of non-speed daters.

Speed Dating Format

At any one point, there will be 30 dates, each 3.5 minutes long. At the end of each round, the moderator will notify the men to rotate to their right.

Before the break from 8:00pm-8:15pm, speed daters must leave a place holder at their seat before they leave the area. Speed daters can then grab a drink at the cash bar. At 8:15pm, speed daters will return to their last position for the start of the second round. Out of courtesy for all attendees, we hope all participants stay and finish speed dating until the end of the event at 9:15pm.
